Meeting of the Waters
The Meeting of Waters is where the Negro and Solimões rivers meet, a unique natural phenomenon in the world. The waters of the two rivers, of different colors and densities, do not mix, forming an impressive landscape. The Negro River, which comes from Peru, has dark waters, due to the high concentration of humic acids and tannins. The Solimões River, which comes from Colombia, has muddy waters due to the transport of sediments. When they meet, the waters of the two rivers flow side by side for more than 6 kilometers, without mixing. This separation is caused by the difference in water density. The waters of the Negro River are denser than those of the Solimões River, which is why they are lower.
Indigenous Village
Following the itinerary, we will visit the indigenous village of Tuyuca. The villagers will perform their dances and rituals, providing a unique cultural experience for tourists. After the presentation, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the village, learn about its traditions, taste its cuisine, get face painting (for an additional cost negotiated with the indigenous people) and purchase artisanal products produced by the indigenous people.
